Manuel Canu is born in Sardinia, Italy, in 1979.In year 2000 he moves in the UK, where from 2004 to 2007 studied Ceramics at Bath Spa University; He successfully completed his studies achieving a First Class Honours Degree in 3D Ceramic Design. His other Ceramics qualifications include a National Diploma in Craft Design (City of Bath College 2001-2003). In 2007 He was awarded the residency at Guldagergaard, Ceramic Centre, for the Project Network, Denmark. Since He graduated, many art galleries have shown interest in is work and have been selected by the CPA (Craft Potters' Association) for their 'Setting Out' exhibition in London, an important showcase for new makers. Later the same year He is selected to participate at Talente 2008, at the International Trade Fair in Munich. In February 2009, Manuel Canu takes part at the Ceramic Art London, a prestigious art fare held at The Royal College of Art in London.Manuel Canu lives for 2 years at the Vallekilde Højskole in Denmark; hire he works with his ceramics and graphics, and gives ceramic workshops to students.Interested in constantly developing his ideas and skills, Manuel Canu takes part at a six weeks residency at Pottery Workshop in Jingdezhen, China. In October 2009, Manuel Canu takes part of a residency program at the Ceramic Centre at Guldagergaard, Denmark. From 2009 Manuel Canu lives in København where he regularly works on his ceramics and graphics.
